Carrd is a one-page site builder. People use it for launches, events, and simple personal cards. SayHi is narrower: a personal page with a username URL, portfolio blocks, and templates aimed at a person.

Stay on Carrd if you are laying out a landing page section by section. Move if the job is a personal site you can remix from a developer, designer, or creator demo.

How they differ

Positioning checked 2026-09-24. Features and prices change. This table avoids numbers SayHi cannot keep current. Carrd remains a reasonable choice for the cases below.

A fixed set of templates. The page is a profile with blocks, not an open section canvas.

You can publish a simple card and paste the URL into a bio.

The username URL is the point. Creator and link blocks exist for that field.

Possible, because a one-page site can be about a person.

The product is only that. Bio, work, projects, contact.

Portfolio

You build the gallery from sections and images.

Project and image blocks, plus Portfolio, Editorial, and Bento templates.

SEO and indexability

Carrd sites can be public. Their SEO controls are theirs. Check the current editor.

Owned pages are indexable. User profiles enter the sitemap only after the quality gate.

Customization

More layout freedom than SayHi. That is the trade.

Less freedom, faster to a page that already looks like a person.

Analytics

Depends on the plan and on what you embed. Check current docs.

Optional first-party visitor insights live in the dashboard. This is not an ads or marketing suite.

Custom domain

A common reason people pick Carrd. Confirm it on their site.

Custom domains are not offered. The public address is sayhi.page/yourname.

Creator use

Good for a one-off page that is not tied to a profile product.

Good for the URL you repeat: bio, résumé, GitHub website field.

Price

A free plan is commonly available, and paid plans exist. Check their current pricing. This page does not copy numbers that go stale.

Publishing a SayHi page does not require a paid plan today. There is no pricing table because billing is not a product yet.

Ownership

You build on Carrd. Export and domain options are theirs to define.

You write the page on SayHi. JSON draft export exists in the studio. Custom domain does not.

Why people move

You want a person, not a section stack

Starting from a developer or photographer demo is faster than inventing the order of a personal page.

The URL should be a name

sayhi.page/yourname is the address. You are not also designing a site map.

The page has to hold work and a reply

Projects and a contact form are blocks, not embeds you have to go find.

Who should keep using Carrd

The page is a campaign

An event, a waitlist, or a product launch is a landing page. SayHi is a poor fit for that, on purpose.

You already designed the sections

If the Carrd page is done and you like it, moving is extra work. A template is not automatically better.

You need a custom domain now

SayHi does not offer one. If the domain is the requirement, Carrd or another host is the honest choice.

Paste the public URL

The importer reads public HTML only. It does not sign in, and it will not follow a URL that points at your machine or a private network.

Questions

Will SayHi replace every Carrd site?

No. Carrd is a general one-page builder. SayHi is a personal page. Use the tool that matches the job.

Can I paste a Carrd URL into the importer?

Yes, if the page is public HTML. The importer does not sign in. If the useful text is injected by script, you may only get the title.

Do you copy Carrd’s pricing?

No. Check Carrd for current plans. This comparison stays away from numbers that expire.
