Link in bio for Nurses A public bio for the specialty. Not a chart.

Travel contracts, precepting, a conference talk, a union role, a clinic that needs a name. A link in bio for nurses is the page a recruiter or a colleague can read without opening a staffing portal. It is not where a patient looks up a lab.

Languages, tools, and the notes between them

I design small languages and the CLIs that keep them honest. Currently at Harbor Labs, previously on the typechecker for a research notebook that got out of hand in the best way.

San Francisco

Now

Building Ink, a typed notebook format for people who write with code sitting next to the sentence. Harbor is the CLI around it — evals, snapshots, and a boringly reliable local workflow.

A typed notebook format. Prose, code, and tests in one file that still diffs like a human wrote it.

Writing

Occasional notes on type systems that stay out of the way, local-first tools, and why most developer portfolios look like résumé PDFs with extra steps.

Work with me

Tell me about the project. I read every note.

Links a nurse bio can actually hold

If a sentence would identify a patient or a unit’s private board, it does not go on a public page.

Specialty line

ICU, school nursing, oncology infusion, the thing you want the next contract to know. One line, plus the credentials you are willing to spell out.

Current contract or unit

Only if you are allowed to name the facility. “Travel nurse, adult ED, on contract through May” is enough when the hospital is not yours to advertise.

Precepting

Whether you take students, and who should write: the school, not the student in the middle of a shift.

Staffing contact

A recruiter email or the form. Say which roles you will discuss. SayHi does not match nurses to jobs.

A talk or a paper

Link the conference page or the article. Do not upload a protocol that belongs to the hospital.

What the minute is for

Alex’s demo is a developer page. Minimal is the right quiet layout. Delete the repositories and write the specialty.

01

Credentials as words you typed

RN, the state, the extra certification. SayHi does not verify a license board. If the number must be public, you type it.

02

The work you can describe

A unit type, a teaching role, a deployed skill. Not a shift, not a room number, not a story that belongs to a patient.

03

Who is allowed to write

Staffing, faculty, a program committee. Patients with a clinical question need the clinic’s phone, which you can print in a sentence if that is your job.

This is not advice

Nothing on the page should tell a stranger what to do about a symptom. If you want that boundary in writing, one sentence under the specialty is clearer than a footer nobody reads.

Templates for this work

Minimal

Type, a short list, and no chrome. The nurse bio uses this so the credentials stay readable.

Elegant

If the public role is speaking or a clinic practice and the page should feel like a card.

LinkedIn personal website. Recruiters already have the résumé. The guide is about the website field opening something other than a second copy of the Experience section.

Publish the page

Write the specialty before the bio

If the first sentence could sit on any nurse’s page, it is still empty.

Strip the schedule

Nights and travel windows can be a clause. A calendar of the unit is not a link.

Point staffing at one door

Email or the form. You do not need a second button for every agency that has ever called.

Questions

Can patients message me here?

You can put a clinic phone in a sentence. Do not invite clinical questions into the contact form. SayHi does not store a chart, and the form is not monitored as an on-call line.

Will the page verify my license?

No. You write the credential. Link the state board’s public lookup if you want readers to check it themselves.

Is this a travel-nurse profile?

It can say you take contracts, the specialty, and when you are free to talk. It does not list pay packages or submit you to hospitals.

Can I post a protocol I use at work?

Only if you have the right to share it. A public bio is the wrong place for an internal policy PDF.

How is this different from the job-seeker page?

Job seekers are showing samples to get hired into a role. This page is for a nurse who already has a practice identity: specialty, teaching, or a contract. Use the other page if you are changing careers and the work samples are the point.
