Bio-link sites

When a bio site is enough, and when it is not.

Bio-link sites put many destinations behind one URL. That is a real product. SayHi can be the URL in a bio, but the page is a small website: one thing first, then the rest.

Use a bio-link site when the list is the product. Use SayHi when you would be embarrassed if the list were the only thing a stranger saw.

Portrait of Rio Hale on a city street at golden hour

Rio Hale

Short films about ordinary nights

I walk around with a small camera and wait for the steam, the bus lights, the joke someone almost told. Weekly pieces from Los Angeles kitchens and sidewalks.

What this is

Not a vlog. Not a brand. A stack of three-minute films about the part of the day after the work lights go off and before anyone has decided to go home.

Say hiCollabs if the night is interesting.

How they differ

Positioning checked 2026-09-24. Features and prices change. This table avoids numbers SayHi cannot keep current. Bio-link sites remains a reasonable choice for the cases below.

Bio-link sitesSayHi
Page design

Usually a column of similar links, sometimes with a header.

A template. The header is a person, and the first block is the work.

Link in bio

The category exists to turn one URL into many destinations.

SayHi can be that URL. The page on the other side can hold more than links.

Personal website

Often treated as a substitute, and often too thin to be one.

Intentionally a one-page site, not a directory of your other accounts.

Portfolio

A link labeled Portfolio, which leaves the bio site.

The portfolio can be the page. The other accounts are the links.

SEO and indexability

Varies by product. A list of outbound links is a weak page even when it is indexed.

Index the pages that have a name, substance, and real blocks. Leave the empty ones out.

Customization

Button color, font, and background are the usual controls.

Layout and block choice. Not a theme marketplace.

Analytics

Click counts per button are the usual promise. Confirm the current product.

Optional first-party visitor insights live in the dashboard. This is not an ads or marketing suite.

Custom domain

Common on paid bio plans. Check the one you use.

Custom domains are not offered. The public address is sayhi.page/yourname.

Creator use

Someone who posts often and only needs to reshuffle links.

Someone who wants the latest piece, plus the links, plus a way to be reached.

Price

A free plan is commonly available, and paid plans exist. Check their current pricing. This page does not copy numbers that go stale.

Publishing a SayHi page does not require a paid plan today. There is no pricing table because billing is not a product yet.

Ownership

The page is a profile inside that product.

A page you can edit, export as JSON, and put in more than one bio field.

Why people move

The bio field became the whole site

If every introduction ends at a list, the work never gets a URL of its own.

You already know which link matters

Put that first. The importer can carry the other public links across when the HTML includes them.

You want one page for every profile field

Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, GitHub, and LinkedIn can share the same personal URL.

Who should keep using Bio-link sites

You will not maintain a page

A list you update in a minute is better than a beautiful page you abandon.

Every link really is equal

A shop, a newsletter, a tour, and a video with no ranking among them is a list. Keep the list.

You need the surrounding product

Stores, bookings, and email tools are not on SayHi. The bio site may be the operating system you actually use.

Paste the public URL

The importer reads public HTML only. It does not sign in, and it will not follow a URL that points at your machine or a private network.

Questions

Which bio tools does this cover?

The category: Linktree, Beacons, and the other products that turn one URL into a list. Named comparisons live on their own pages.

Is a bio site bad for SEO?

Not by definition. A thin list is a weak page. A page with a name, a specific sentence, and real work can be indexed. SayHi refuses the thin ones.

Where do I start?

The link-in-bio generator if you want to type the links first. The importer if you already have a public page. The creator audience page if you want a template.
