Link in bio for Doulas Birth, postpartum, or both. Then the backup and the interview.
A doula link in bio tells a family which part of the work you do, what a prenatal visit includes, which hospitals or birth centers you already know, and who covers you if two labors overlap. It does not replace a midwife or an obstetrician, and the page has to say that without turning into a waiver.
Rio Hale
Short films about ordinary nights
I walk around with a small camera and wait for the steam, the bus lights, the joke someone almost told. Weekly pieces from Los Angeles kitchens and sidewalks.
Not a vlog. Not a brand. A stack of three-minute films about the part of the day after the work lights go off and before anyone has decided to go home.
They are often on a phone, late. Creator is the width. Rio is not a doula. Replace the film with the scope.
Birth, postpartum, or both
Pick the work you want. If postpartum visits stop at four weeks, say four weeks. Do not let a birth package imply overnight care you do not offer.
A prenatal visit
How many, where, and what you cover: preferences, positions, who calls you in labor. Concrete, not “holding space” alone.
Places you already attend
Hospitals, birth centers, or home, by name if you can. A family needs to know you have been in that building.
Backup
The person who comes if you are at another labor, and whether the family meets them. “I rarely miss a birth” is not a backup.
The interview
No fee or a fee, how long, and what you want them to ask. The form can request a due-date month. It is not a medical chart.
Support, with a clinical line drawn
Nurses may be writing a specialty bio for staffing. Therapists are a licensed mental-health practice. You are hired support around birth or the weeks after. Say the line plainly.
01
Scope before the birth story
Your own story can matter later. The first screen is what you will and will not do in their labor.
02
Backup is part of the offer
Name the arrangement. Families are buying coverage, not a hope that the nights stay quiet.
03
No clinical tasks in the list
If you do not do blood pressure, exams, or medical advice, do not let a poetic menu imply that you do.
The clinician stays the clinician
One sentence is enough: a doula does not replace a midwife, a physician, or emergency care. If a symptom worries them, the page should point at their clinician or emergency services, not at your contact form.
If the practice is quieter and the interview is the main door.
Instagram link in bio. The introduction often happens in a story. The guide is one page behind that tap. For doulas the page has to carry scope and backup, not another button.
Publish the page
Name the work in the first line
Birth, postpartum, or both, with the limit.
Introduce the backup in a sentence
How families meet them, and what happens on the night you are already out.
List the buildings
The hospitals and centers you know. Home birth only if you attend it and the local rules allow the way you work.
Are you providing medical care if you publish this page?
No, and the page should say you are not a clinician. SayHi does not check a certification or turn the form into a medical record.
Why isn’t a doula bio a nursing credential?
Nursing pages name a license and a unit for staffing or teaching. This one is hired support around birth or the weeks after, plus who covers you and how a family interviews you.
Can a family pay a retainer here?
No. Explain when a retainer is due and send it through the tool you use. The page does not hold a due date as a booking.
What if two families have the same month?
The backup sentence is the answer. If you cap the month, say the cap. Do not leave “now accepting” up after you are full.
Should I tell birth stories?
Only with the family’s permission, and without details that identify them or their clinicians. A description of your role is safer than a story about their labor.
Can I list a certification?
Yes, as words you type, with the organization. SayHi will not confirm it. Certification is not a license to practice medicine.
