Independent work needs a URL that says what you do, who it is for, and how a conversation starts. A personal website for freelancers can be that quiet. It does not need a proposal deck.

Most independent practices do not need a rebrand. They need language that matches the rooms they already make. I work in conversation, then on paper, then — only if it is useful — on the site.

How we begin

A month of interviews and editing. A positioning note you can actually use. Optional: a one-page site, often on SayHi, so the public version stays as quiet as the work.

Three blocks, then stop

Elena’s demo is a writer and advisor. The structure fits a designer, consultant, or editor just as well.

What you do

Two or three sentences a stranger would trust. If it could be on any freelancer’s site, cut it.

How a job starts

A month, a conversation, a fixed piece of work. Say it in a text block. SayHi will not generate a statement of work.

A door

The contact form collects name, email, and message, with company as an optional field. That is the whole pipeline.

What this page will not do

No invoices, no contracts, no scheduling links built in, no pipeline. If you want Calendly or a payment link, add them as ordinary links. The page is the explanation and the address.

Make it yours

Write the sentence first

Before picking colors, write the line you would say if someone asked what you do at a dinner. That becomes the headline.

Show one proof

A project, a publication, or a short list of the kinds of rooms you work in. Not a logo parade.

Publish the name

sayhi.page/yourname. Custom domains are not available yet, so choose a username you would put on paper.

Questions

Can clients book time on the page?

Not inside SayHi. You can link to a scheduler you already use. The built-in door is the contact form or an email link.

Is the freelance example a real person?

No. Elena Rossi is a fictional demo, so you can see the Elegant template with a practice written into it.
