Link in bio for Lawyers The matters you take, and the states where you may take them.

A lawyer link in bio is a narrow door: practice areas you still accept, the jurisdictions on the bar card, and what a consult request must include. It is not a blog about the news, and reading it does not make someone a client.

I help independent practices explain what they actually do

Writer and advisor in Milan. I sit with architects, editors, and small studios until the work can be said in a sentence a stranger would trust.

Practice

Studio advisory, in writing

Most independent practices do not need a rebrand. They need language that matches the rooms they already make. I work in conversation, then on paper, then — only if it is useful — on the site.

How we begin

A month of interviews and editing. A positioning note you can actually use. Optional: a one-page site, often on SayHi, so the public version stays as quiet as the work.

What a stranger is allowed to assume

Write the limits in the same block as the invitation. A footer disclaimer under a long essay will not be read.

Matters you take

Three areas at most, in the words a person would use to describe their problem. “Full-service firm” is a building, not a bio.

Where you are licensed

The states or countries, and whether you appear in federal courts if that is the work. Do not imply a license you do not hold.

Ask for a consult

How you screen, how soon you reply, and that a message is not representation. The form is a name, an email, and a message.

What to send first

Deadlines, the other party’s name if they should check conflicts, and documents you do not want by email. Say the conflicts check out loud.

Bar record

Link the official lawyer search for your jurisdiction. SayHi will not confirm that you are in good standing.

A door with a conflicts check

Consultants on SayHi describe an engagement and case notes. A lawyer page has a license and a conflicts problem. Keep them apart.

01

The matter, not the motto

“Trusted advocate” could be anyone with a bar card. “Landlord-tenant in two counties, no personal injury” tells someone whether to write.

02

Conflicts before the story

Ask for the other side’s name early. A page that invites a full narrative before a conflicts check creates a mess you did not need.

03

No advice in the examples

If you describe a past matter, strip the facts that identify a client and do not turn the ending into a lesson for the reader’s case.

Not a client relationship

Put one sentence above the form: reading this page, or sending a message, does not make the reader a client. SayHi does not run a conflicts system and does not know your malpractice carrier’s rules.

Templates for this work

Elegant

A card: name, matters, jurisdictions. The lawyer demo uses it.

Minimal

If the page should read as a short memorandum rather than a calling card.

LinkedIn personal website. Colleagues already have the profile. The guide is about the website field opening a page that is not a second résumé.

Publish the page

List the work you want, then stop

Every extra area is a conflict and a question you will have to refuse.

Name the bar search

The official lookup is the proof. A badge image is not.

Say how fast a deadline should be flagged

If a statute runs this week, the page should tell them to call the number, not wait on a form you check in the morning.

Questions

Does sending the form make me their lawyer?

Not by itself, and the page should say that. Your jurisdiction’s rules decide when a relationship starts. SayHi does not make that decision.

Can I post case results?

Only within the advertising rules where you are licensed. The page will not stop you from writing something your bar would dislike. Keep results specific, sourced, and free of client identities.

Is this the consultant page with a different title?

No. Consultants describe a commercial engagement. This page is a law practice: jurisdictions, conflicts, and a bar record.

Can clients upload documents here?

No. The message is text. Tell people which secure system you already use, and what not to attach to a normal email.

Should every lawyer at the firm have a page?

If their matters differ, yes. A firm site can be a link. This URL is one person’s door.
