Link in bio for Makeup artists Two books. Bridal is not editorial, and the kit has to travel.

A makeup artist link in bio is a pair of books and a map. Couples need a trial and a day-of time. Editors need a look and a call time. Mixing those in one undifferentiated gallery is how the wrong job shows up in the inbox.

Identity, objects, and the rooms they occupy

The page, at full width

A modular grid is hard to judge inside a phone frame. This is the page at full width.

Identity, objects, and the rooms they occupy

Independent designer in Brooklyn. I make identities that can sit on a shelf as well as a screen — books, lamps, marks, and the paper they begin on.

Brooklyn

Studio Voss

A small practice. Brand worlds, objects, and the analog studies that keep both from going glossy.

Identity and a cloth-bound brand book for a lighting studio that still pours plaster in-house.

The links that sort the jobs

Nia’s stills are objects and identity work, not makeup. Portfolio is the picture-led layout. Upload the books in the studio.

Bridal book

Looks from weddings you can show, with skin tones and light that resemble the weddings you want. A fashion tear sheet does not answer a couple.

Editorial book

The jobs that are not weddings: sittings, campaigns, a show. Keep this door visually separate so a bride does not book a runway eye.

How far you travel

Cities, or a radius, and whether travel days are billed. “Available anywhere” is not a call time.

Trial and day-of

How long a trial takes, how far ahead you hold a wedding date, and when you arrive in the room.

Whose kit

You bring it, the salon provides a chair, or the production has a vanity. Say which jobs include an assistant.

Sort the book before you add a button

The photograph is the proof. The sentence under it should say which job it was.

01

Label the look

Bridal trial, campaign beauty, stage. A filename is not a caption.

02

Travel is a number

Miles, cities, or “studio only.” Couples plan around that number.

03

The inquiry asks for the date

Date, city, and bridal or editorial. If those three are missing, you cannot answer.

Two buyers

A couple

A trial, a start time, and a face that looks like the wedding they want.

A production

A call sheet, a reference, and whether you are bringing an assistant.

Portfolio

The books need width. This is the layout to remix.

Editorial

If captions and the order of the looks are doing as much work as the stills.

Instagram link in bio. The look already lived on the grid. The guide is the argument for one page that sorts bridal from editorial.

Publish the page

Split the stills into two groups

If you cannot split them, you do not have two books yet. Lead with the one you want.

Write the travel line

Include the early call. A wedding at noon that starts with you in another city is a different fee.

Say whose products touch the skin

If you only use your kit, say that. People with allergies ask, and they should not have to.

Questions

Can a couple pay the booking fee here?

No. Explain the hold and link the invoice you send. The page does not store a card.

Why isn’t makeup the same page as hair?

Hair is a salon column and a return measured in weeks. Makeup is two books, a call time, and how far you will travel with a kit.

Should I mix bridal and editorial in one grid?

No. A couple booking from a runway photograph will be unhappy, and so will you. Two groups, two captions.

Can I embed a reel?

No. Use a still and a title that opens the host where the reel already plays. The page itself does not run the video.

What if I only do one of the two?

Delete the other book. An empty bridal section looks like you forgot, not like a boundary.
