Meta One’s link page, compared with free alternatives.

Meta now sells a link page inside Instagram. You can also put a free page in the profile, or use the profile links Instagram already offers. This guide compares those choices with the numbers Meta has published, and it says when a number could not be checked.

What Meta announced

On 15 September 2026Meta’s newsroom introduced Meta One, a subscription across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Meta AI. The same article header also shows 16 September 2026. The post says plans are “now available globally” and, in the same piece, that they are “rolling out gradually,” with more than 50 features launched and 15 million subscriptions and trials “to-date.” That 15 million figure is Meta’s, not a number counted here.

The same day,Instagram for Creators posted the creator plans, dated 15 September 2026: “Starting today, we’re gradually rolling out Meta One creator plans globally.” The claimed launch date of 15 September 2026 matches both posts. It is the announcement date. It is not evidence that every account saw a subscribe button that morning.

Meta One is a family of plans, not one price. The newsroom says plans start at $2.99 a month for single products, $7.99 a month for individual bundles, and $14.99 a month for creator and business bundles. OnMeta’s plans page, read 12 October 2026, the personal section listed WhatsApp Plus at $2.99 a month, Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus at $3.99, Core at $7.99, and Premium at $19.99. That page’s FAQ says pricing varies by country and plan. The personal section did not describe the link page.

The link page, and the $14.99 claim

The creators post puts a Link page on Essential, which that post prices at$14.99/mo. The description there: a sharable link page for your website, social channels, and other destinations, reached from the Instagram profile. It says you can share up to 20 links, add images and custom text, and get a unique URL to feature the page outside Instagram.

The newsroom does not repeat the 20-link sentence. It prices Essential as “starting at $14.99/mo,” Advanced “starting at $49.99/mo,” Expert “starting at $149/mo,” and Max “starting at $499/mo.” The creators post prints those same dollar amounts without “starting at”: Advanced $49.99/mo, Expert $149/mo, Max $499/mo. Both pages say plans, benefits, pricing, and availability may vary by region, by app, and by account. The creators post adds that plans are priced per profile, so an Instagram account and a Facebook account would each need a plan.

Two limits on that price. First, $14.99 is the published Essential price in those posts, not the price of every Meta One plan. The cheaper personal plans above were on the plans page and were not described there as including this link page. Second, Meta says the price shown at checkout depends on country and account. If the newsroom’s “starting at” and the creators post’s flat $14.99 disagree for your account, the subscription screen wins.

Higher creator plans include Essential, so they include the link page as described. The posts do not say those plans raise the 20-link cap. Do not assume a higher cap.

Links inside posts and Reels are a different feature, and they are not on Essential. The creators post puts them on Advanced: links on 4 posts and 4 Reels per month. The newsroom lists “links in organic posts and reels” under Advanced. Buying Essential for a link page does not, on these pages, buy a link inside the feed.

Twenty links is not the free bio

Instagram already lets a profile hold more than one link. TheInstagram link-in-bio guide on this site treats those links as destinations: each one is a door, and the visitor still has to pick. That guide was checked on 24 September 2026 and does not claim a numeric cap.

A separate Help Center page,Add a website to your Instagram profile, says you can add up to five websites by going to Edit profile and selecting Links. Help Center limits change without notice, so confirm the count in the app before planning around it.

What the Meta posts do not settle: whether the paid link page replaces those profile links, is added beside them, or only appears as the separate URL. They also do not publish the domain of that unique URL. Both are omitted here rather than guessed.

The comparison

When the paid page is the right tool

Essential is a bundle. The link page is one line in it. The same post includes a path to a verified badge, impersonation monitoring once you are verified, and the single-product plans (Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus, WhatsApp Plus) plus expanded Meta AI use. The creators post is explicit that verification is not required for the professional tools. Only the badge and impersonation protection require it.

Pay for that bundle when those tools are the reason, and the link page is convenient because it arrives with them. Also pay if you specifically want images and custom text on a page Meta hosts, with a URL you can paste somewhere other than Instagram, and you would rather manage it in the subscription than in another product.

Do not pay Essential only to escape a one-link Instagram bio. Instagram already allows several profile links, and five destinations do not need a $14.99 page. Twenty links, images, and a separate URL are a different job.

When a free page is enough

Use Instagram’s profile links when each destination is obvious and the list is short. A shop, a new film, a newsletter. The visitor does not need a second product to see three doors.

Use a free published page when the tap needs context: who you are, which piece is current, and which link is the one that matters. That is the job SayHi is built for. Claim sayhi.page/yourname, lead with the work, put the other profiles under it, and paste the URL into the profile field you already have. Thelink-in-bio generator starts from the links. Thelink-in-bio product page is the longer version of the same idea.

Linktree’s free plan, as its pricing page described it on 12 October 2026, is a real $0 tier: unlimited links, core appearance options, basic analytics, with Starter, Pro, and Premium above it. If a link list is what you want, that free tier can be the whole product. Paid prices are shown in local currency and change, so checklinktr.ee/s/pricing yourself. SayHi’sLinktree comparison is about the shape of the page, not a price table.

Carrd is a one-page site builder, not a stack of buttons. The homepage read on 12 October 2026 offers three sites and the core features for free, and it points custom domains, forms, widgets, analytics, more than three sites, and removing the Carrd footer at Pro. Use it when you want to arrange sections yourself. Use SayHi when the page should stay a personal page with a username, not an open canvas. TheCarrd comparison is that distinction.

Other products also publish free plans. Beacons is one SayHi already compares, without copying a price, on the Beacons page. Beacons is left out of the table because its plans change often; check its pricing page directly.

What SayHi will not pretend to be

A fair comparison includes the things this product does not do.

Rio Hale is a fictional filmmaker. His page is one shape a free bio link can open: the latest piece, then the places he actually posts. He is a demo, not a customer, and not a Meta One screenshot. The layout is the Creator template, one of eight on the templates page. What that website field is for is inwhat a link in bio is.

How to choose

  1. Open Edit profile and look at Links. If the destinations you need already fit, stop. You do not need a subscription or another product.
  2. If the visitor needs a sentence and the work, publish a free page and paste that one URL into the profile. SayHi, Linktree’s free plan, and Carrd’s free sites are three different shapes of that choice.
  3. Open Meta One’s subscription screen if you want the badge path, impersonation monitoring, scheduling, links in the feed, or Meta’s own link page with images and up to 20 links. Read the price your account is shown. The posts disagree on “$14.99” versus “starting at $14.99,” and both warn that region and account change the number.
  4. If you only wanted links inside posts and Reels, Essential is the wrong plan on the pages cited here. That feature is Advanced, with a monthly quota.

Questions

When did Meta One launch?

Meta’s newsroom post introducing Meta One is dated 15 September 2026 and also displays 16 September 2026. The Instagram for Creators post is dated 15 September 2026 and says creator plans are rolling out gradually, starting that day. Treat 15 September 2026 as the announcement date, not as proof that every account could subscribe that morning.

Does the link page cost $14.99 a month?

The Instagram for Creators post lists Essential at $14.99 a month and puts the link page on that plan. The newsroom says Essential starts at $14.99 a month. Both say plans, benefits, pricing, and availability may vary by region, app, and account. Cheaper Meta One plans exist. The personal plans page read for this guide does not put the link page on those cheaper plans. Advanced, Expert, and Max cost more and include Essential. The price your account sees on the subscription screen is the one that counts.

Does Instagram allow 20 links in the bio?

The “up to 20 links” sentence is about Meta One’s link page on Essential, not about the free profile links. Instagram’s Help Center says you can add up to five websites from Edit profile, then Links. Check the control in your app, since Help Center limits change. Meta’s posts do not say whether the paid link page replaces those profile links or sits beside them.

Is a free link-in-bio page enough?

It is enough when the job is a page you control: a name, the work, and a few ways onward. Instagram’s own profile links cover a short list of destinations at no Meta One subscription. SayHi, Linktree’s free plan, and Carrd’s free sites each publish a page without that subscription. Pay for Essential when you want Meta’s link page, or the other creator tools bundled with it.

Does SayHi replace Meta One?

No. SayHi does not sell a verified badge, impersonation monitoring, links inside posts and Reels, or a subscription managed inside Instagram. It publishes a personal page at sayhi.page/yourname. You paste that URL into whatever profile field you already have. SayHi has no checkout and no custom domain.

Will these prices stay the same?

Do not assume that. Meta says pricing can vary by region, app, and account, and the newsroom’s “starting at” wording does not match the flat Essential price on the creators post. Linktree shows prices in local currency. Recheck the linked pages before you pay. This guide was checked on 12 October 2026.
